1. 5Shiftsfilmproject – Make Your Movie

a. Task: Scripting, shooting and post-production of a short film in just 5 Shifts. Within the 5Shifts

teams have to make enriching, enlightening & entertaining short films.

b. Project official time frame: 5 Shifts and each shift is 10 hour long within the span of 2.5 days.

i. 5 shifts * 10 hr shift each = 50 hrs of film production

ii. 2 hr break in each shift * 5shifts = 10 hrs break

iii. Total time: 50 hrs of film production + 10 hrs of break = 60 hrs

c. Shooting dates will be provided by the organizers.

d. Movie duration: 4 min to 10 min approx including credits.

e. The 5Shiftsfilmproject contest is open to filmmakers across the world. Participation will be

accepted on a first come, first served basis.

f. 5Shiftsfilmproject official guidelines-

i. The following film production creative work will take place during official time

frame , including but not limited to:

? Script development & screenplay writing

? Casting

? Costume & art direction

? Principle shooting

? Post-production including editing, color correction & VFX

? Sound/music production (teams can use pre-recorded music/sound effects

subjected to the permission of use from copyright owner.

5Shiftsfilmproject encourages filmmakers to record fresh music by using

available resources.)

? Subtitling, Rendering & Mastering of DVD

ii. The following pre-production work to begin prior to the 5Shiftsfilmproject

Official time frame is:

? Volunteer crew & cast arrangement

? Equipment arrangements (maximum two cameras can be used for shooting,

teams can choose any camera format. Lights & grips are allowed)

? Location scouting ( teams should sign location hiring form & complete legal

formalities)

iii. All footage must be shot within the 5Shiftsfilmproject Official time frame.

iv. Use of stock footage is prohibited.

v. All graphics & animation must be created during the 5Shiftsfilmproject Official

time frame, if require for the film.

vi. Stock still photographs uses are permitted, but filmmakers should own the

copyright of photographs.

vii. Themes for 5Shiftsfilmproject movies will be provided by the organizers

which will be communicated to the team before the commencement of project.

viii. Films other than English & Hindi language must be subtitled in English.

ix. All costs associated with the production of the Entry are solely the responsibility

of the applicant & team.

x. The 5Shiftsfilmproject entries must be completely original work with the

filmmakers; filmmakers must be the present and exclusive and sole owner of all

right, title, and interest in and to the Movie; and have the exclusive, sole, and

unconditional power and right to submit the movie to 5Shiftsfilmproject subject

to the terms & conditions and rules. Work must not contain obscene or

pornographic material; may not contain defamatory statements about any person,

company, organization or entity; may not invade privacy or other rights of any

person, company or entity; may not in any other way violate applicable laws and

regulations; and may not contain any copyrighted elements (other than as owned

by the applicant). Entries containing prohibited or inappropriate content will be

disqualified from the contest.

xi. Submission:

comply with the provisions of this document in its sole discretion.

xiii. 5Shiftsfilmproject Competition is produced and administered by Dada Saheb

Phalke Film Festival-2015 organizers.

xiv. Producers and Employees of 5Shiftsfilmproject and their families are not

eligible to participate in the contest. Employees of any partners or commercial

sponsors and their families are also not eligible for participation.

xv. Films must include 5Shiftsfilmproject logo in the beginning of every film and a

semi-transparent small logo at top-right of the screen throughout the movie.

xvi. To be certified as an “5Shiftsfilmproject film” each participating team’s

film/video production must follow all rules herein. 5Shiftsfilmproject organizers

reserve the right to screen only certified “5Shiftsfilmproject films.”

2. Certificate of participation will be given to all participants. The winners will be honored

with certificate & trophy plus 20 international film festival submission package will

awarded by Fest Entry ( www.festentry.com ).

3. The film produced as a part of 5ShiftsFilmProject shall be screened during 5th Dada

Saheb Phalke Film Festival-15 in Delhi NCR.

4. Delegate registration fee is applicable to attend DSPFF-15 which covers hospitality

charges for filmmakers & attendees & include lunch, tea/coffee with cookies & master

classes.

5. The movie can be produced anywhere in the world after registration as per guidelines

given above.
